WEST HOVE GOLF CLUB

Founded in 1910, the Club was originally situated on the boundary between Hove and Portslade. However, in 1991, the construction of the 'Brighton by-pass' meant the Club had to relocate. It is now in the midst of the South Downs, in an area of outstanding natural beauty, and has been included in 2010 into the new South Downs National Park.

The 18-hole golf course is laid out over rolling chalk downland and is a challenging par 70. Being in one of the warmest and driest parts of the country, coupled with the chalk terrain, the course is always playable.

Right from the first tee, the course at West Hove will ask questions of your golfing skills and will challenge your determination to improve still further.

The course, constructed to USPGA standards, has chalk-based fairways and well-drained greens and is complemented by a computerised irrigation system which allows it to remain open throughout the year. It measures 6253 yards and boasts a 617 yard par 5 18th hole which we claim to be the longest in Sussex, if not the country.

The superb modern clubhouse caters for receptions, private functions and business seminars. The first class restaurant and bar both have panoramic views over the course.

The Club has its own 18-bay driving range, the only one in Brighton & Hove, which is open to the public. Tuition from PGA qualified staff is available for individuals or groups every day.

The Club has provided a ramp for the disabled giving access to the first floor restaurant and bar areas. Special shower and toilet facilities have also been provided.

Golfers of all ages and abilities are most welcome at this friendly Club and the Management, Professional and Members look forward to your visit.
