Pitreavie Golf Club can be found between Rosyth and Dunfermline. Founded in 1922 and designed by the famous golf course architect, Dr Alister MacKenzie, it is the only MacKenzie course in Fife. As all golfing historians know, Alister MacKenzie went on to design the Augusta National Golf Club, home of the "Masters" and several holes at Augusta are similar to golf holes at Pitreavie. One of MacKenzie's traits was to design double and triple tiered greens in order to test golfers putting skills. Several greens at Pitreavie are of this nature and do test the most skilled golfers.
This delightful parkland layout measures just over 6,000 yards and offers a variety of golf holes. Both nines at the course are of similar length and the par 3s, two of which are over 200 yards offer a test of length and accuracy. Water comes into to play on many of the holes. Although fairly short by today's modern standards this Par 71 course offers golfers of all abilities a fine test of golf.
The course offers superb views to the south across the Firth of Forth towards Edinburgh and the hills beyond. Pitreavie boasts a fine Professional shop, stocked with the latest equipment and our resident PGA professional offers tuition at very reasonable rates.
In our comfortable and welcoming clubhouse you can relax in peaceful tranquility, join in with others in a spirit of convivial debate, celebrate your good round in the club bar which offers a variety of fine wines, beers and spirits.
