Piltdown Golf Club in East Sussex is close to Uckfield, Haywards Heath and Lewes and was founded in 1904.
The stimulating course is a pleasure to play. Aside from the interesting panoramic views, the heathland terrain offers some of the finest golf in the region. At par 68 and 6,076 yards for men, and 5,269 yards par 72 for ladies, it provides a testing and pleasurable test of skill.
Practice facilities include a driving range, putting green and pitching green along with two new enclosed practice nets.
The traditional Sussex farmhouse Clubhouse is a listed building and it may no longer be quite the rustic farmhouse which won Henry Cotton's affection, but it remains, as a visitor recently said, "a sort of country inn with golf course attached".
The catering and bar staff have established a deserved reputation for providing a
wide selection of quality food & drink. When the round is over, unwind in the Clubhouse
where a great range of beers, wines, spirits or soft drinks await. Tasty snacks
are also available -
Visitors, whether in Societies, groups or as individuals are all welcome at Piltdown.
