The Club was founded in 1897, since then the course has been extended and altered on a number of occasions. With an overall length off the medal tees of 5976 yards, the course is by no means the longest in the area, but the individuality of each hole and the significant tree planting in recent years provides a good test for the low handicapper and average club golfer alike.
The extension to the Clubhouse, which was completed in time for the Club’s Centenary celebrations in 1997, houses changing rooms on the ground floor, and upstairs provides views over the eastern part of the course, the lounge bar and dining room.
The Club occupies some 107 acres of Worcestershire countryside to the north of Droitwich Spa between the town and the M5 Motorway, just off the A38.
The Clubhouse and 5 holes, including the 1st and 10th, lie to the east of Crutch Lane which is crossed to reach the 2nd and 11th holes and recrossed for the 9th and 17th.
The 13 holes to the west of the lane have been built round and over Green Hill, the top of which provides a fine view including the Malvern, Clee, Clent and Lickey Hills and , it is rumoured, on a clear day the Black Mountains in Wales. Closer at hand is the Châteaux Impney, built by local salt baron John Corbett who was responsible for planting the Corsican pines on the top of Green Hill which make it a notable landmark particularly when approaching the Club on the M5 from the north.
